E-shoppers need to check the right mix of EMIs& discount rates to maximise gains (ET)

Equated monthly installment (EMI) schemes for online retail consumers have been around for quite some time. To make them more attractive, several banks have started clubbing EMI facility with a flat discount on the final cart value. This helps in reducing the sale value of products.

NITI Aayog to set up working group on Centrally Sponsored Schemes (ET)

NEW DELHI: NITI Aayog will set up a working group to prepare a draft report on how to make implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) more effective by taking into account suggestions made at the first meeting of the sub-group of Chief Ministers here today.

Narendra Modi government in final lap to approve IIM Bill (ET)

NEW DELHI: Almost a year after it came to power, the Modi government is in the final lap of approving its first substantial education legislation. ET has learnt that the HRD ministry dispatched the Indian Institutes of Management Bill, 2015, to the Union Cabinet on March 11.

Legal experts have mixed responses over abolition of Section 66A (ET)

BENGALURU: The Supreme Court striking down Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 - which allowed law keepers to make arrests for posting objectionable virtual content - has brought cheers and worries to legal experts in Bengaluru, the IT capital.

SEBI to tap social media (ET)

Frauds worth Rs 11,022 crore detected in PSU banks during April-December (ET Article)

NEW DELHI: PSU banks have reported over 2,100 fraud cases involving a sum of Rs 11,022 crore in the first nine months of the ongoing fiscal, with PNB reporting the maximum number of such instances.

An analysis of the data available with the Reserve Bank shows fraud cases, involving amount of Rs 1 lakh and above, in 26 state-owned banks during April-December 2014 has already surpassed the 2013-14 figure.

In 2013-14 fiscal, there were 2,593 such cases involving an amount of Rs 7, ..
